The students of Webster Athens came together for an evening of cultural exchange on Sept. 26.  The Student Government Association (SGA), in cooperation with the Office of Student Affairs, organized the gathering and called on students to come dressed in traditional costumes from their countries and to bring their favorite customary dishes. Several responded to the call and surprised their fellow classmates with their traditional garbs and flavorful treats.

From the aromatic Karak tea from Qatar to delicious Kachapuri (a traditional cheese bread from Georgia), to the favorite Greek appetizers Spanakopita and Tiropita (spinach and cheese pies), over 16 nationalities were represented.

The rooftop terrace of the academic building served as the venue, with the Acropolis illuminated in the background. Students enjoyed sampling the foods of their international classmates, listening to music from various countries and learning about each other’s cultures.

“This event showcased the rich cultural diversity of the student body at Webster Athens,” said International Relations graduate student and SGA President Daniela Cobo Gonzalez. “Cultural nights like this remind us that diversity is our strength. By sharing food, stories and traditions, we build a supportive community where every student feels at home. And this is just the beginning!”
