Webster University President Tim Keane, joined by Ryan Guffey, Executive Vice President for Webster International; Board of Trustees Chair John Nickel; board member Alan Elliott Merschen, and longtime advisory board member, Eve Coulson, visited the Athens campus of Webster University.

They were welcomed by Webster Athens Rector Vasilis J. Botopoulos at a reception held Oct. 15 at the Webster Athens Cultural Center terrace overlooking the Acropolis and the historic Tower of the Winds in Plaka.

During their visit, Keane and his delegation met with Webster Athens administrators, faculty, staff, students and alumni, as well as foreign ambassadors and diplomatic representatives in Athens. Among the guests were the Deputy Minister of Education Kostas Vlasis, ambassadors of over 25 countries, presidents of other educational institutions, industry chambers and friends of the University.

“It was a great pleasure and honor to welcome our new president, Tim Keane, on his first visit to the Webster Athens campus, and to discuss with him the university's vision to ‘empower our students to become catalysts for change — transforming their own lives while driving progress and inspiring lasting impact in communities worldwide,’” Botopoulos said.

“With over 47 years of providing study opportunities abroad, Webster’s educational delivery is top tier," Guffey said. "In Athens, students not only come to appreciate cradle of Western civilizations, but also experience a vibrant cultural, economic and business hub at the crossroads of Europe, Asia and Africa.”
